- Slander – No malicious or defamatory posts of any other forum member, product or third party provider. Please contact CMP Admin if you feel irritated or disadvantaged, we will investigate and take appropriate actions, which may include banning and/or make public announcements as appropriate.
- Profanity – No foul language, name calling or any inappropriate posts please.
- Advertising – No commercial posts, signatures or exchanges of contact details in posts. Provision is made in the Authors’ box next to each post and from the Members’ Profiles available to all Subscribed Members.
Forum Guidelines
The following are basic guidelines of how moderators will operate this forum.
- Please make postings to the appropriate forum only. Moderators may move your posts or delete it if it was placed under an incorrect forum. Note some forums are not accessible to Basic Members and would require an upgrade to follow. Continuous misplacing of posts will lead to a caution and eventual banning.
- Interesting topics with valuable information may be marked as “Important”, which will appear at the top of each forum.
Forum Navigation
The bullitin board you are viewing consists of several forums. Each forum can have several topics which in turn can have several posts.
- To see the topics in a forum, click that forum's name.
- To see the posts in a topic, click that topic's title.
You can return to the homepage of this board at any time by:
- clicking the board logo located at the top of the screen, or
- clicking the first link (name of the board) in the location line displayed right below the logo.
You can sort topics by clicking the column names.
In some places, an additional column named Forum may also appear. By default, topics are sorted by last post date in descending order, that is topics with new posts appear first. To sort by, for example, replies, simply click Replies. An arrow shows the currently sorted column and the sort direction. Clicking on Replies again will change the sort direction.
Topic Icons
Here is a selection of the most common topic icons. These icons may appear in different colors if a topic is popular or contains new posts since your last visit.
| Announcement |
| Important |
| Closed |
| Moved |
| Poll |
Occasionally, you will see small arrows ( ) next to topic titles. If you click one of those arrows, you will be automatically taken to the first new post since your last visit to that topic.
Active, Selected, Popular and Recent Tabs.
These tabs allow easy access to selected, popular and recent topics.
- Selected topics are the topics that the moderator(s) or administrator(s) of this board find important.
- Popular topics are the topics that have at least a certain number of replies or are viewed at least a certain number of times.
- Recent topics are the topics posted recently, typically in the last 7 days.
Clicking these tabs may return different results in different places. For example, clicking the popular tab from the board's home page will return all the popular topics in all forums. However, if you want to see the popular topics in a particular forum only, simply go to that forum, and click its popular topics tab.
User Types
This forum serves as a meeting place for two diverse types of investors, Property Investor and the Forex Specialist. Both skill sets need to work together to make Currency Mortgages a successful investment vehicle. On the CMP Forum this is reflected in user types, which gives access to different areas on the forum and allows users different functions.
- Basic Members – have only access to the general discussion section of this forum, which is used to exchange ideas, news and views between Fellow Property Investors.
- Property Investors – have access to the “Meet Investors” section and view only to the “Currency Talk” Section. In addition they may use the “Members” feature to search for suitable investment partners, download attachments, etc.
- Forex Professionals – is for Forex Traders and Fund Managers and give members access to “Meet Investors” and “Currency Discussion” where they can actively participate in discussions on currencies and canvas for Property Investment Partners.
The table below give an indication of User Permissions. Please visit Property Investors or Forex Professionals for a more detailed description of these member types, including good practice guides.

How to Post
- You can create a new topic in a forum by clicking the new topic button.
- You can reply to a topic by clicking either the reply or quote buttons. The difference between these buttons is that when you click the quote button, the entire post will appear quoted in the text editor whereas clicking the reply button will bring up an empty text editor.
If you are using Internet Explorer 5.5 or later versions, you will be able to use a What You See Is What You Get (WYSIWYG) editor for typing your posts. You can change the formatting of the text by simply selecting part or all of it, and clicking the appropriate buttons such as Bold and Italic. Size, color, and font changes work similarly; just choose a size, color, or font from the appropriate drop-down menu after you make your selection. You can also change formatting without selecting any text. For example, to start typing in bold, click the Bold button, and to stop typing in bold, click the Bold button again. Many toolbar buttons can be accessed by keyboard shortcuts as well. Here is a quick list of the shortcuts you can use:
- Copy: Ctrl+C
- Paste: Ctrl+V
- Bold: Ctrl+B
- Italic: Ctrl+I
- Underline: Ctrl+U
How to insert links:
There are two ways of inserting links:
- Link only: Click the Insert Link button:
, and enter a web page address.
- Link with label: Make a selection, click the Insert Link button, and enter a web page address. The selected text will be the label of the link.
If your browser does not support the WYSIWYG editor, you can use special codes to change the formatting of your text:
| Bold | Bold |
| Italic | Italic |
| Underline | Underline |

Editing Posts
You can only edit your own posts unless you are a moderator or administrator. Find the post you want to edit, and click the “Edit” button. Forex Professionals should note that their post in the “Currency Discussion” section may not be edited. In addition, the editing of posts may not be possible after a certain number of days have passed from the time of the original post.
Menu and Special Features
Search
The Search function allows either searches of text in posts or members’ usernames. Searches obey user types and are generally only available to "Subscribed" users.
My Account
This menu gives you access to all your user account settings and requires you to be a “Registered” user. Update your “Watched” Topics and Forums, Member Profile, and Preferences as well as “CP” and “Subscriptions” discussed elsewhere in this help file.
Members
This menu feature gives “Subscribed” users easy access to other users so that you may enter into discussions. Selecting any tab will restrict the usernames listed and clicking on the column heading will sort users accordingly. This feature can therefore be used to find users with the highest “CP” or the longest registered members or those who are most active, according to their number of posts.
Calendar
Special and recurring events that will benefit users of the forum will be posted on the Calendar. This may include details of teleconferences, live training events and market updates, which will mostly be posted by Forex Specialists. Click on the page icon next to the calendar event for further details.
Private Message
Private messages are like e-mail. Only the recipients can see them. You can send a private message to someone in several ways. You can click the link next to the Logged in As ... line, click the Write New button, and type the username of the recipient in the To: field. Alternatively, you can click the username of a person, and select the Send a Private Message option from a pop-up menu (note: not all browsers support this). You can send private messages to multiple recipients by separating their usernames with a comma.
Polls and "CP"
This forum has open polls and restricted polls. Polls on the “Currency Talk” section are restricted so that only Forex Specialists may vote but all can view their collective opinion.
Polls in other sections are open and may be started and voted on by users, depending on their user type. Start a new topic, and click the Add Poll link.
If you cannot see an Add poll link, make sure that
- you are starting a new topic, not replying to an existing topic, and
- the administrator of the board allows you to start polls.
A poll consists of a question, at least two options, and an optional length (the number of days the poll will run, leave 0 or blank for no limits). You can also specify whether you want your poll to be multiple choice or not. Multiple choice polls allow users to select more than one option.
Confidence Points - “CP”
This is a special feature to the CMP Forum that allows Property Investor members to give a feedback score, specifically to Forex Professionals on the helpfulness and accuracy of posts made by the relevant member on the forums. This “CP” score is depicted as a series of four dots at the bottom of each users’ profile. The dots turn green as the particular member gain “CP” from other users.
To add "CP", simply click on the dots in the profile of the particular user. Each user can only receive one “CP” or vote from another user. You can view and remove “CP” to those you have awarded “CP” to in the past from the “CP” tab in the “My Account” menu.
Still Searching..?
Looking For Mortgage Lenders
You will not find Currency Mortgage Lender or providers of Currency Mortgage products on this forum. This forum is for those who have Currency Mortgages or who are about to enter into a Currency Mortgage, to find suitable investing partners to guide their currency switching decisions. Property Investors will find successful Forex Fund Managers and/or Traders and Forex Professionals may find Property Investor clients on this forum. Please visit our section on Find a Lender to secure a Currency Mortgage Loan.
Forex Trading Advice
This forum is not suitable for conventional Foreign Currency Trading, though it may lead an investor to finding suitable Currency Trading Partners. Whilst the “Currency Talk” section may give an indication of future currency movements suitable for switching mortgage debt, such indicators are generally too slow for conventional currency trading.
